Improved data editing and database backup in SQLConnect 1.6.2!

SQLConnect 1.6.2 is a maintenance release that includes major bug fixes in the following area:

Improved the Create/Restore Database Backup utility.
Introduced an option to change the connection parameters if project file cannot be opened due to failure to connect to a database.
Fixed problems in the Edit Data dialog that occur on specific databases.

SQLConnect 1.6.1 with new sorting functionality!

Version 1.6.1 is a minor feature and bug fix update. A cool feature added is the ability to sort query result tables just by clicking on their column names, much like a standard Windows Explorer will sort the files and directories displayed.

SV Consulting is proud to announce the first commercial version of ODBCj. ODBCj is a complete ODBC DataSource Manager that you can use directly from your Java^TM application. Here is a short list of the functionality provided to you directly from Java^TM:

Obtain a list of all registered DataSource names.
Obtain a list of all installed ODBC drivers.
Register a new DataSource name.
Unregister a DataSource name.

SQLConnect 1.5.3 includes the following enhancements:

Ability to launch multiple SQLConnect windows. Convenient for connecting to multiple databases at the same time. To try, use the File|New Window option.
Setting a value for a whole column is now possible through the Browse/Edit Tables dialog. Right click on a field and select Set Value.
SQLConnect now comes with a sample HypersonicSQL database which helps you start using the product immediately. Open the demo.pjt project file to start.

Printing enhancements in SQLConnect 1.4.3!

Starting from version 1.4.3, SQLConnect users will be able to preview and customize reports before printing them. Customization includes setting up appropriate page layouts, changing report titles and positions, adjusting the width and height of columns and rows, etc.

The new version SQLConnect 1.4 contains a number of exciting features and enhancements. Among the most notable ones is the ability to edit the data in a table using a Form View. The form view is located in the Edit Table dialog and makes editing data, containing special characters easier than before.

Other useful enhancements are:

Ability to execute queries and updates in a batch mode.
Copy|Paste operations work between SQLConnect and other applications.
The Standard SQL Editor is made easier to work with by putting it directly in the main frame.

SQLConnect update - version 1.3.1!

SQLConnect version 1.3.1 contains index manipulation functionality, not exposed in previous versions. Using the Browse/Edit Tables dialog, you can now create and delete indexes, setting various parameters about them including name, affected fields, uniqueness.

Those 2 new dialogs allow you to manipulate the data in your tables without having to type complex insert, delete, and update statements.

SV Consulting wishes Happy New Year to all our clients and visitors. In the beginning of the new 2001 year, we are proud to present SQLConnect 1.2.1. The new version contains Import dialog, which allows you to import tables from other databases to the database you are currently connected to.

Other modifications include: added sample connection parameters for different databases, improved UI documentation, bug fixes, including a major ODBC connectivity one, etc.

SQLConnect 1.2 features a Query Designer!

It is finally out - a brand new, easy to use, powerful Query Designer!

SQLConnect 1.2 started shipping with its latest Query Designer that helps you build simple and complex queries in similar fashion. You no longer need to be an SQL expert to use SQLConnect. In fact you may know very little or no SQL to start using version 1.2 of SQLConnect. Double clicks, right clicks, drag and drop actions are working together to help you design the queries which will bring the data back from the database in a form that you require.

Another exiting new feature introduced in SQLConnect 1.2 is the ability to save project files that will remember your connection settings plus the list of queries that you've already built.

SQLConnect 1.1.7 released!

New features in this version:

SQLConnect 1.1.7 allows you to build a list of favorite queries. In that list you can manage queries that are used frequently and you don't wish to re-type them every time.
Help is now available through Help buttons and menu option from within the product.
Minor bug fixes and usability issues resolved.

SQLConnect 1.1.6 allows updates in the database!

The new version of SQLConnect allows executing updates from the command tool. Along with SELECT statements, now you can execute all kinds of update requests including CREATE, INSERT, UPDATE, DROP, ect. statements.

Besides the ability to update the database, we've included some other features to make the product even more user friendly. Starting from version 1.1.6, SQLConnect will remember your settings (i.e. the position of your windows, the maximum number of records returned, etc.) even if you restart the application. Also, you can do "Redo" and "Undo" operations when typing your requests.

Based on client requests, we improved our "Browse Tables" modeless dialog. With SQLConnect 1.1.5 you can now get information about almost all objects in your database, including schemas, tables, fields, indexes, etc.
