Download SQLConnect.zip and unzip it. This is a 30-day evaluation copy of the product. If you would like to use it for more than 30 days, please go to the Purchase page to buy the product online.
Unziping the SQLConnect.zip file will produce an SQLConnect directory. In that directory you will find an executable SQLConnect.jar file. Double click on it to launch SQLConnect. You have to have Java Runtime Environment version 1.3 or later properly installed on your system.
If double-clicking does not work, open a command prompt and navigate to the SQLConnect directory. Then type:
java -jar SQLConnect.jar
If you wish to start working with the demo database, use File|Open Project menu option and open the demo.pjt file found in the root SQLConnect directory. The demo project connects to a sample HypersonicSQL database and contains a few sample queries to the tables in that database.
Go to www.javasoft.com to download the latest JRE. SQLConnect supports JRE 1.3 and 1.4. Make sure you have the java bin directory in your PATH.
The only JDBC driver that comes with the JRE is the JDBC-ODBC driver. If you would like to connect to some other database, contact your database vendor for a JDBC driver or use the table below to download it online.
